Founded by Steve Roche to support NHS organisations and healthcare providers, Clinical Assurance Solutions brings years of clinical safety expertise. Our mission is to deliver credible, independent assurance and practical clinical risk management guidance, ensuring patient safety remains paramount.
Steve Roche
Steve is an experienced, HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with more than 16 years clinical experience in a variety of settings.
Steve is an accredited Clinical Safety Officer and digital health leader with a passion for digital transformation, clinical safety, and quality improvement.
Prior to his clinical career, Steve specialised in quality assurance and continuous improvement methodologies in the automotive industry.
Steve utilises the transformative power that digital Clinical Safety can have to ensure Health IT systems and processes are effective, safe, and efficient. These skills and a desire to improve the quality of care, outcomes and experiences for people, their families, and carers is what motivates Steve professionally.
Today Steve runs Clinical Assurance Solutions, an organisation founded to offer pragmatic, safety-focussed assurance, with an emphasis on real-world solutions.

Professional experience
- Led numerous local-level, system-level (ICB/ICS), and national NHSE projects as a CSO, providing expert advice regarding assurance compliance of digital health IT systems to the DCB0129/0160 standards.
- Developed a novel system-level approach to digital Clinical Safety for a South-West NHSE digital AI deployment, bi-directionally scalable to allow ease of DCB0160 compliance for Primary Care.
- Co-chair of the South-West CSO Network.
- Council member of the BCS Digital Clinical Risk Management special interest group within the Health and Care faculty.
